Generalized inverse

Definition

Generalized inverse, or g-inverse, of a matrix $A$ is given by:

$$AGA=A$$

It is usually denoted as $A^{-}$. If $A$ is invertible, then $A^{-}$ is unique and equal to $A^{-1}$.

It is also known as pseudo-inverse.
